Per Diem

[x_text]All foster families receive a per diem to assist in the room and board of each child placed in their home.  The basic per diem rate is reimbursed to foster parents who care for children with basic parenting needs. This is a basic fixed rated determined by the age range of the child.  Additional amounts may be paid based on the severity of the child’s needs. The child’s Case Manager will provide information on the current per diem rate as it is periodically changed through legislation. Following the Information Session, persons interested in continuing the application process must complete an application, which is included in the information packet. Their names will be screened against the county’s Child Protection Services (CPS) database, the Sexual Offender Registry, Department of Corrections Offender Query, and the Board of Pardons and Parole database. Any negative findings must be reviewed by the County Director/Designee before an invitation to IMPACT FCP Pre-Service Training is extended.[/x_text]

Fiscal Information

[x_text]Our Agency tracks payments on an invoice system. Each family must complete an invoice monthly to document per diem, clothing, and any other incidentals for each child in the home. We are on a 30 day reimbursement system. Ex. Invoice submitted in January is paid in February. Every effort is made to make reimbursements via direct deposit on the 15th of each month. Resource Development case managers will guide foster and adoptive parents through the payment process and give instructions on completing invoices. The Where’s My Check Web Portal allows families the ability to access their payments and 1099 information online.  Detailed current and historical check information can be viewed and printed to help with payment reconciliation.
