June 22, 2017What is fatherhood, and what does it mean to be a father? In this "no holds barred" workshop, Dr. Moore will explore the role of fatherhood in the adoption and foster care system. Dr. Moore will candidly examine some of the unique barriers that fathers may encounter when interacting and navigating the complex terrain of the adoption and foster care system. Dr. Moore will uncover some of the needs that fathers have that often are ignored and overlooked. Further, Dr. Moore will engage in a critical dialogue regarding fatherhood and leadership, and will consider strategies that can be implemented to more effectively broach the role of fatherhood in the adoption and foster care system for participants.

June 24, 2017Operation Home Run 5K Fun Run/Walk for Foster Care Awareness is a FUN Family-Friendly fundraising event to support our mission to strengthen our families for a stronger Georgia. This is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the need for Foster Caregivers in our communities. Supporters of all ages are invited to hit the pavement in support of children in need of a nurturing and loving home. In Georgia alone, there are over 13,000 children in care. All race proceeds will directly benefit the Division’s Annual Secret Santa Fundraiser that provides Christmas gifts to more than 8,000 foster children in Georgia.
